Brief

Classroom in a primary school (7- and 8-year-olds)

To include:

  • electronic whiteboard – teacher in front of it
  • tables around the room – children sitting at tables
  • displays on walls
  • storage around the room
  • coats and bags on hooks
  • windows and doors, through which a playground is visible
  • teaching assistant at one table with four children, maths books and plastic fruit being counted
  • parent helper in reading corner, reading with one child
  • good ethnic mix
  • make sure one of adults is male
  • one or two children should have a visible disability (e.g. in wheelchair, on crutches or with leg brace, hearing aid, etc.)
